Every day, our students follow their routine and schedule. We work on our activities in small groups of two, rotating to different activities throughout the period, which allows students to be engaged and interested in what they are learning! I work in a District 75 school serving special education students in Brooklyn. Our class roster consists of six kindergarten students, all diagnosed with Autism. The students in my class have wonderful individual strengths and abilities, and cannot wait to improve upon their skills The students in my class tend to learn through various means, including a tactile approach. They love to feel, touch, and explore new items. Allowing my students to feel, touch, and manipulate objects while working on academic skills would be beneficial to their overall learning and gain of academic knowledge and skills.
