Hi! I teach ESL to students at a dual language high school. Our ESL students are mostly immigrants from China, and the remaining students work to become proficient in Mandarin. Our students come from low-income families and face many personal challenges at home, such as being separated from their parents. However, they continue to work extremely hard and have a high attendance rate. They frequently stay after school for extra assistance. Because we're a small school, our budget is limited, and teachers often pay out of pocket for supplies. Nonetheless, according the US News & World Report, we have ranked #2 in New York State and #14 in the nation.
