Our school is a community. Even before my children attended this school, I had heard that it is a great community. It's true; we work hard but we always work together. It's the "best kept secret in the county", although we're not much of a secret anymore. Our students perform above and beyond their expectations every day. They are always happy, always willing to help others, and they work very hard. As a community, we work hard to support each other. We work together, we collaborate, and we work to support the students as best we can. In return, we have great students. They do for each other as we, the teachers, do for them. Although we are a tight-knit community, we do not have a lot of funding. We have what comes from the state, and our PTA works hard for us, but we do not have a foundation to support us. We are in a middle income area; parents have enough to support their children, but they don't have much more. Funding this book club would mean the world to our students.
