My students are 12-14 year old students who are eager to take the challenge this new academic year brings. They are vibrant individuals whose eyes are sparkling with expectation. They enjoy the interactive learning process and any way that they can participate. My school is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) school and the students love that aspect of learning. However, there are some students who don't have a device to bring. It is one thing to see me demonstrate on the Promethean board or lean over and view a classmates device, but it is important that each student has that hands-on experience at some point. Yes there is a computer lab and a media center, but allowing the students to remain in the learning environment and go from that bystander stage to an active participant is key to assisting my students to making it to the next academic level.
