This year, we have the privilege of working with 69 third graders. They came to us very unprepared for third grade, but over the course of the year became scholarly thinkers. We have the pleasure of also becoming their fourth grade teachers. Our students live in a high poverty area and sometimes lack continuity in their lives outside of school. We have the opportunity to create a comfortable environment with students of whose needs we are already aware.
