This project will help cover the cost of the Breathe For Change training program which will help me build on our school's existing mindfulness programs. As an art teacher I teach all students in the school, so I will have the unique opportunity to directly share my learnings with our entire student body as I incorporate the trauma-informed strategies I learn into our daily art class routines. Upon graduation from Breathe for Change, I will become certified to lead wellness and social-emotional learning programs at my school (both for students and for other educators). Additionally, I will earn a nationally recognized RYT-200 yoga teacher certification. Through this comprehensive training, I will be equipped and empowered to teach inclusive and trauma-informed yoga classes to adults and young people, as well as design and facilitate wellness and social-emotional learning workshops and professional development programs for schools, districts, and organizations.
