This project will help my students to read real life text about things happening in the world. Many of them have never left the community they live in and they need exposure to things in the outside world. When reading stories from all over the world they learn about different peoples lives, what is happening on our plant and the different place you could visit. The kids will be excited to bring the Scholastic News or TIME For Kids magazines home to be able to share with their parents and families. These magazines will help the students connect more in other readings they are exposed to.
