Our public elementary school is located in a very poor, troubled neighborhood with a great diversity of people. The students are at a great disadvantage because of their economic backgrounds. Somehow, however, these students have managed to break the cycle of failure that exists in other places. The students are uniformed, disciplined, and hard-working. Many of them score "advanced" on the state tests. I am proud to be a teacher at this school, and excited to work with such motivated students. Our school is currently being rebuilt, so we are being housed in portable classrooms on the softball field of the local high school. If you have the means, please help us to succeed!
