Welcome to my DonorsChoose! My name is Elise McDermott and I am a Kindergarten at Mater Academy, Bonanza. It is a Title I charter school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our motto at our school is "I love Mater Academy because I Matter!" I want to use my projects to show all my students matter, and that when they work hard they can succeed in school. That means, I want tools that students can use in our classroom that help them learn and grow. We work hard to develop skills in English literacy, writing and math. I also hope to provide them with activities to learn science and inquiry skills and more about the world around them. I also want them to develop social and emotional skills so that they will be prepared to take on the world around them so they are ready socially for the rest of their school years and beyond!
