My Kindergarten students are amazing kids who want to learn to read. They usually don't believe me when I tell them they are all readers at the beginning of the school year. I tell them that, if they can read the word "a", "I" or their name they are readers. I see the smiles on their faces appear when they realize this is true. They love feeling successful when reading a book and being able to share that with their own families.
