I teach in Early Childhood Special Education classroom and all my students have disabilities. Most are non verbal and have difficulty expressing their needs and wants. The little 3 and 4 year olds are full of energy and readiness to explore. They love creating with their little hands and expressing themselves by any means they can. I think that art is a powerful outlet and a wonderful means to allow children create something of their own. We have a very supportive staff at our school, however our resources are very limited. We love posting our art in the hallway and getting the compliments for our unique pieces.
