Science is a hands-on experience motivated by discovery, observation, critical-thinking, and reading. My ideal classroom would include a station for 6-8 students working through a microscope lab while the rest of the class is working on a project, collecting data, creating a presentation, or reading, through stations. I would like to offer field trips for students to collect their own specimen found in the Alaskan environment which they experience daily. Students in the middle school levels are naturally inquisitive and open to share their new ideas and discoveries. Providing microscopes to our science courses will shape the way they think about earth, space, water, and themselves! Visit my website www.alaskamath.net to learn more about my classroom.
