There are approximately 1000 students on my campus. 89% of them are economically disadvantaged, with 52% of them being at-risk. Demographically, more than 70% of them are limited English proficient. Although many of our students are currently meeting state testing standards in English, they are still well below the state average. Despite some of the challenges many of the students face on a daily basis, they come to school eager to learn. Most realize that education will be their chance to break the poverty cycle, and the seriousness with which many come into class with, reflects this understanding.

About my class
