We are a migrant school and Title 1. This is the 1st year we have implemented a Pre-Kindergarten program and have just begun to acquire the proper resources. The other teachers have loaned me almost all of the things currently in our classroom. I am a 1st year teacher and moved across the country to do what I love- learn and teach. I believe in my kids and have spent over half my paycheck to provide the basics. All of these factors combine and leave me grateful, but in need of things that I don't have the ability to get for my endlessly deserving 4-year olds. My students want nothing more than to learn and be loved in a safe place. They are joyful in spite of any circumstance or challenge they encounter at home- many are in foster care. My kids come from homes where the only books they have access to are the ones sent home that we make in class. I am striving to provide them with resources and opportunities to equalize their education, but I need help.
