My classroom is filled with a diverse group of 27 fifth grade learners. They are energetic and eager to learn each and every day. In our school many of our students come from poverty and single-parent homes. We have a high percentage of free- and reduced-lunch students. Despite the challenging life situations that many students come from, they come to school ready to be immersed in their education. They crave new information, and through new books this can be achieved.
