I'm stepping in and taking over for a very talented, retired music teacher this year and am looking to bring my past experience of ukuleles in the general music classroom to Williams-Cone School. These students have been using recorders in the past and I would love to give them an opportunity to learn a more modern, versatile and lifelong instrument. After the past two, very unpredictable and stressful years of limited music instruction (due to Covid-19 and CDC guidelines), having a classroom set of ukuleles to offer to students would help bring life and community building back into the music classroom. Please help me get these students not only learning to play as an ensemble, but to learn an instrument where they can sing AND play at the same time!
