My students are intelligent, smart, motivated, and eager to learn but they faces the many challenges of living in poverty. My school is located in an immigrant community where everyone is hardworking, where there are children that are working and have responsibilities children should not have yet. Everyday when I come into school I am inspired by each and every one of them as they have the energy to hop out of their seats to answer a question on the board. My students are hungry to learn but our class' biggest obstacle is the lack of basic educational resources. We, my students, their parents, and I, are strong believers that education is the key to the future and the way out of poverty and we are in complete control of our education.
