Children come to school wanting to explore the world around them and learn new things. I want to help them be successful with this process and incorporate technology skills. We have a very diverse school where 35% of our students speak a language other than English at home and 94% of our students qualify for free and reduced cost lunch. Our children come to school each and every day wanting to learn something new and share their new experiences with others. We have loving, supportive parents at our school, but with so many businesses closing down, many of the parents are concentrating on keeping and/or getting a job. Therefore, the students do not have many opportunities to experience life outside of their community. It is our duty as educators to make these experiences happen within the school day. I want to bring the experiences to my students by purchasing a web cam and buying color ink to make brochures of the places we visit.
