I teach kindergarten in a high poverty school. Our school has more than 80% of the students receiving free or reduced lunch. We have a high ethnic population with students speaking more than 12 different languages. We are opening a new Early Childhood Education Center in our school where students can access our free public pre-school at age three. We have added three pre-school classes and three pre-kindergarten classes to our previous K-5 school. This year we also received a technology grant for students in pre-school to third grade. Every pre-school student will have 1:1 iPads. Kindergarten students will have 1:1 iPad minis, and every 1st through third grade student will have 1:1 Chromebooks. Each teacher will also have a Smartboard and a voice amplification system.
