My students have a wide variety of disabilities. They come in and out of my room all day-- kindergarteners through fifth grade--for help with various subjects and issues. Some just need a small amount of academic help. Others have behavioral issues and often need a place to calm down. Others have need for a large amount of academic help. I have found that all of my students have loved the inclusion of Legos in our room, however, those students with behavioral issues seem to be the most creative and can use this creative time to unwind and refocus. With the inclusion of Lego robotics in middle school, this Lego Lab is a perfect introduction to building, thinking and creating.
