My earth science classes are all eager 9th graders. Our school has had funding decreased by 30%, and yet the standards and expectations continue to rise. This change has put a damper on many activities and opportunities for the kids, as well as many frustrated teachers, knowing that their students deserve so much more! I want to give my students the absolute best lesson I can every day. With such a range of learning abilities in one classroom, I do have to get creative to keep things interesting, challenging and fun for all. This learning environment can only be achieved with diverse learning tools, technology, and a positive attitude! My students and I have the attitude part down pretty well, and make the most out of what we have, however I know if they were to be enriched with more hands-on opportunities, their knowledge and capabilities would only improve! These students deserve for science to change them!
