"When am I ever going to use this?" Is my students favorite question. They do the work but they do not like it and definitely do not see how it relates to them or their world. They are good kids but lack imagination sometimes and do not see past the present day or outside of the things they like. I want to bring them experiences that will open their mind and let them see how important math is and how everything around us is somehow related to math. I think they want this but just haven't been shown. The school as a whole could use a little more reality in their math content.
