My students live in a suburb of Chicago along the Metra line. We have a very diverse population with students who are from middle class families who are able to provide just about anything that their children want but a growing population in our school does not have this same comfortable childhood. These students have very hard working parents but face tough economic challenges. They come to school along side their peers who seem to have so much more than they can ever wrap their heads around. They hear their classmates talk about trips and toys that they do not have the luxury to afford. We are working very hard at Three Oaks School to help bridge these socioeconomic and social divides.

About my class
