To help my students learn amid the pandemic, I could use new updated technology in my classroom and exciting technology to use with them. Apple iPads are very user friendly and easy for the students in my classroom to learn how to use. Many of them are familiar with the features on the iPad from using a parent’s phone at home and can translate the skills to the iPad seamlessly. By having these iPads in my classroom it would allow me to work with a small group of students at a teacher table during an instructional center and teach them how to use various apps such as Google Classroom or SeeSaw that can also be used to access classroom lessons and/or work when they are learning from home. We would also be able to use these iPads to increase communication with our families at home from school as all of our work that is created in SeeSaw can be access and commented on via the app. My students are all very curious and excited to learn new things through technology so any way that I can enhance my lessons is a win for me. My students would also be able to further their love of learning with these games from Osmo that go along with the iPad. Osmo allows us to explore reading and math skills as well as creativity, communication and social skills as we play through games like creating letters from sticks and learning simple coding with friends.
