The literacy and math centers in my special education classroom allow my students to have the opportunity to make independent choices in what they would like to work on during independent work. One of my main goals during the school year is to allow my students to be self-reliant during their school day. At times, in special education, teachers do not want to give our students the independence that they crave. I am so excited about giving my students additional choices to make during their school day. These manipulatives will give my students more variety during their independent center times. I am looking forward to the new school year that is fast approaching, and I am sure my students will be so excited to see and use all the new learning that is coming their way this fall.
