My students are wonderful 7-8 year old students that come from various backgrounds in our area. We have a great school climate, with some supportive parents, teachers and administration that help our students become successful. Our school is not a low income school or Title 1 school, but a lot of our families are struggling to make ends meet as most areas are in the United States. We do not receive extra funds to help our students and therefore our school technology is not the newest in our district. My classroom has a projector, 2 tape players, and one CD/tape player. We do have an I-Pad that was purchased five years ago with grant money, but that is the newest technology I have in my classroom at the present time. I would like two more tablets to help transition my classroom to have updated technology, and to phase out the tape players and cassette tapes.
