The books on this list are part of the upcoming school year's Sunshine State Books. We read these books together as a class then take a reading counts quiz. Students receive brag tags for every book quiz they have passed. I would like to have these books in my class all year so that the kids can read them at any time even if they don't pass the quiz the first time. We currently share 1 set with eight 2nd grade teachers. If my class has their own set, they'll be able to reread any book throughout the year and retake the quiz. At the end of the year the students get a party for passing all of the Sunshine State Book quizzes. I also added some of the summer reading books from Barnes and Noble's list for those children who don't have access to these books.
