My students are in grades Kindergarten-5th grade. My school is a Title 1 school located in Southern California. We recently changed the name of our school to Hoover School of Fine Arts and are working hard to educate our students in the arts based on the California State VAPA standards. We have added a music and drama class once a week for each class, and our students participate in a yearly dance show as well as an art show. We have a 60 member Chorus of 3rd-5th graders who give up their lunch recess once a week to practice singing. Our school values the students, their families and tries its best to create a positive environment and to stimulate student thinking and creativity. The Chorus performs at local retirement homes and goes to see a professional Broadway show once a year.
