Teaching students is more than just reading, writing, and math. It's about fostering student independence and creativity, working on social skills and functional skills, especially for students with special needs. Many of my students are eager to learn and having these different STEM activities will allow the students to collaborate in high engagement, hands-on activities all while using generalizing skills and their prior knowledge. By incorporating science, technology, engineering and math, students will be able to transfer these skills into opportunities outside of the classroom. There will also be a focus on the thought process and using higher level thinking skills to solve everyday problems.
