I work with dyslexic students in my classroom and these students come in hating reading because they struggle with it. This really breaks my heart because I love reading and want to pass that love to my students. These items will help me create resources for my students and help them learn strategies for dealing with dyslexia, and in turn, build their love for reading. The reading strips will help keep my students on track while they are reading. Students will use headphones as they are reading audiobooks on the class desktops. My students love writing with mechanical pencils and I will use those as rewards to motivate students in my classroom. The whiteboards and markers will be used daily in my small group instruction.
