My kindergarten students are a bright and undauntable group of five and six year olds who attend a welcoming and colorful elementary school! When they first enter the halls of our one hundred year old establishment, they are given an escape from their everyday lives by being enveloped in a story with one of the literary heroes and storybook characters which adorn our walls. With a majority of the students receiving free and reduced lunches, it is extremely important to us that the students feel loved and welcome in our classrooms. Everyone on staff prides ourselves on the fact that even though we are a Title 1 school, we have striven to earn an A on our school report card for the past few years. We feel that through hard work and multiple opportunities to introduce early literacy skills, we can teach our students to value education and find success in the future!
