Our school is a small elementary school housing Kindergarten through fifth grade. We have around 300 students. I am fortunate to see a wide variety of cultures. Largely, our students are Hispanic and African American. Every child in the district is given free and reduced lunch and breakfast. We have a high poverty rate in both the district and at our school. But more importantly, our students are artistic, motivated, and truly a joy to teach. They come to each music class with energy and excitement. The potential I see inspires me to be a better teacher every day.

About my class
