I work in an inner city school teaching 1st grade. I feel our school is in need of many things such as technology. We only get to make 250 copies a month from the copier. We currently do not have a reading program. Most of what my students have I provide for them. My students live in apartments and are very transient. Before all students were on free lunch we were on 90% free lunch. Many of my children (I consider them my own) do not have the resources at home they need to succeed. My students are in need of someone to listen to them and give them tender loving care. This is only my third year, so I spend about $1000 a year out of pocket trying to keep up my classroom. I borrowed many of my centers from another teacher but she is using all the centers this year. I am in need of books and centers for my babies to reach their full learning potential. I'm preparing my students today for what they will achieve tomorrow.
