My students are 5-6 years old and often come from low income families. My students often do not come in to my classroom with a clear understanding of technology can be used for more than entertainment purposes. To make learning meaningful and exciting, I feel I can replace paper and pencil work and assessments with educational apps and online programs. At this age it is crucial to teach them how to use technology effectively. By bringing in two tablets, I can expose my young learners to a world they may never see otherwise. I can expand their horizons, while they learn in my classroom. It is my responsibility as a kindergarten teacher to encourage them to love learning. I am trying to create a hands-on exciting environment they carry on with them throughout their educational careers.
