Our school is a Title I school located in Dania Beach, FL. Most of our students come from low income homes and are on free or reduced lunch. My second graders are inquisitive, lovable, and energetic students. Our school is dedicated to supporting our students' education. Some come from loving homes which support them and others seek encouragement from the school. Many of them have not had a great deal of an exposure to reading at home as they should have had in order to ensure success to the next grade. This is challenging for them to become fluent readers and excel to grade level by the end of the year. By having this disadvantage coming into the classroom, we need all the most effective tools to help them reach their potential grade level.
