My students will use all of these materials to create their own yarn weavings on a cardboard loom. I want to give them the opportunity to choose from different types of yarn, beads, and fabric strips. Weaving is a quiet, calming activity in which children can develop and express their creative ideas. It's also a fun and activity that helps to develop fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination and concentration. Students will learn about the history of weaving and it's importance throughout history. The practice of weaving has been used in many different cultures.
