My students are seniors in high school. Each year they vote for a thematic selective to study in their final year of English. The process of selective choices mirrors the options available to them in college. These kids love science fiction and fantasy so my classroom needs to be plenty full of aliens, dragons, and Dystopian futures to fuel their passion for reading. Senioritis is real but when they love what they're reading, it's impossible to be apathetic.
