My students are from a small rural community which includes a lot of farmers and migrant workers. The economy is rather low due to the recent drought and all of the problems that that brings with it. Many of our students qualify for government aid. Sadly there is a group that does not qualify for aid, yet they are not quite making it from month to month. My students are hard workers and they are ready and eager to learn. They are willing to take on new challenges and learn new skills with zeal. These kids understand the correlation between hard work and rewards. Our school is a Title 1 school with an extremely diverse student population. We offer many programs to help aid us in the education of all students, but we are currently undergoing many budget cuts.
