With Colorado's open education enrollment policy many parents make the choice to send their children to our school especially children whose parents are stationed at the army base at Fort Carson. With 14 elementary schools in the district where children can attend that often means a lot of moving around and relocating for the students aside from the children of military families. My students regularly struggle with learning about their new community due to the fact that they don't spend much time in one location. Many relocate from base to base leaving behind a school, school routines, and friends they are familiar with. My students have needs that I am gladly able to reinforce in the classroom. I am blessed to work as a Special Education teacher with students with various needs. With a classroom that is flexible, sensory filled, and growth mindset driven I am sure to ensure success of all of my students.
