I teach in a low-income area, at a Title I school, and every student in my class receives a free breakfast and lunch. Many of them do not have access to a computer or Internet at home so when they leave my classroom, their exposure to technology is limited. I also teach an EIP class, which means my students are starting the year below their grade level and would need extra academic support. They are curious little scholars that are eager to learn anything I teach them. It might take them more time to grasp a concept and one would think that they would be easily frustrated with not mastering skills easily, but its actually the opposite - their work ethic is commendable. IPads will help them stay engaged, allow them to interact and take ownership with their learning and see information presented to them in multiple medias.
