My students are coming into a technology savvy age. Phones, tablets, e-books and more. However, many of my students are not afforded the opportunities to have all the technology at their fingertips. Reading online; as accessible as it may seem to some, is not available for the majority of my class. Often times, students do not complete their reading logs at home for their homework because they do not have a library at home. My goal is to have students reading. If I have a classroom library of my own, I know that students have access during the day, and can borrow books to complete their homework. I would describe my school as a place where we want the best for our students, and are willing to do "Whatever It Takes" for student success. I believe this to include, making materials accessible for students so they can complete both class and home assignments, and grow to appreciate reading.
