I believe that all students can learn, but many of my scholars in training are below the reading level for their grade and struggle with reading as a result. Teaching content from the textbook alone is not a possibility and differentiation is a must. The students have a lot of energy and come to class anxious after they experience the coolness of Science. My middle school is the largest in the County and are steadily growing. We are also hoping to become a STEM school and we will need a strong Science and Math base in order to accomplish this task. The students have a lot of pride in our school and dive into any task (especially competitions), assuming the content knowledge is there. A few students from our school have placed in County and State Science Fair competition.
