We are requesting a classroom rug to be used for calendar time, reading, writing and math lessons as well as science, social studies, and social emotional learning lessons. A classroom rug will provide a place for students to engage with one another and the teacher throughout the day. Additionally, a classroom rug will allow movement in the classroom while providing structure during group lessons. Minimizing distractions and increasing their focus is optimal for helping first graders learn and grow. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will help increase their academic achievement.
