Students today have experienced a time in education that nobody before them has ever experienced. They've learned to learn at home. Sometimes with help and many times without. My students have always seemed to love school but I sense that they crave school now. The normalcy, their friends, a routine that Covid-19 has taken from them. Our brick and mortar classrooms are even more important now than ever!
Donations to this project will help give my students a place they feel excited to come to everyday and that inspires them to excel despite the many obstacles they are expected to overcome! Our school has recently finished the work on a new building and our class is lucky enough to be the first class in our new classroom. The supplies will help make a reading nook and a math corner in our classroom while also providing flexible seating.
Without going into details, the amenities in the new building are a definite improvement over our current classroom/building. This class and the classes to come deserve to have a space that gives them peace and a sense of community!
