Collaborative learning and student engagement are highly valued in Ms. McBride's classroom. The supplies requested from this project were selected just for that reason. Students tend to retain information and become more engaged when they are enjoying what they are doing. There is nothing my students love more than expressing themselves and allowing creativity to flow into their work. These supplies are for their science interactive notebooks, in which they will take notes, draw pictures, write poetry, exchange thoughts, reflect, and make observations. In science class, we often create foldable notes, design small models of subjects we are studying, complete labs, and produce projects about the results. Pencils, markers, sticky notes, index cards, and crayons will be used to bring creativity and realistic characteristics to model drawings. Scissors, glue, and tape will be used to place foldable notes, poems, observations, and models into their interactive notebooks. Hanging files will help students organize their materials. These supplies will be very helpful with heightening their engagement and allowing them to continue to LOVE learning.
