Our (InD) Intellectually Disabled and (ASD) Autistic students are mostly non verbal, some are non ambulatory and have significant problems in redirecting their behavior when unable to communicate a want or need. In the ASD population, frustration in the inability to have control often leads to behavior outburst. The therapy team, behavior team, and teachers are working in collaboration to teach these students self- regulating techniques. Our InD population is unable to explore the environment on their own due to their physical and intellectual limitations, therefore their sensory system is extremely affected. Our school is an exceptional student center which focus is to prepare our students to be independent and productive in their daily lives and communities. We provide a variety of educational services for students ages 3 to 22 who have Intellectual Disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
