I have a wonderful classroom full of 22 diverse students who love learning. One thing that I find so special about my school is the joy and curiosity of my students. My students bond with one another, becoming a community full of learners who love discovering, exploring, adventuring, and collaborating. Creating this strong community is essential to me as a teacher because it allows me to get to know each one of my students. After the first month of the school year, I know their passions, their strengths and challenges, their family and home lives, the ways they love to learn and things that can be more difficult. All of these things help me to create a curriculum throughout the year that supports each of the individually, but also brings us together as a class of learners.
