My students are 3rd grade children. They are anxious to learn new things and love to engage in academic conversations. They love to take field trips to DC and learn new things. This is the third year I have been with the same group of students. I have looped with them for three years and 20 out of 25 of them are above grade level in reading. They have so much energy and excitement about learning. They even created their own blogs about our the book "Where the Mountain Meets the Moon". They post questions on the blog and have other students answer them for credit. Our school is a prekindergarten-8 school and we have roughly 420 students from a variety of backgrounds. We are a very small school that is becoming over populated in the inner city. Our staff is very close and we all work very well together to make our school strong and our students civic minded learners.
