Students in my school are part of an innovative experiment in public education. We employ a project based learning approach in an effort to get kids doing, making and thinking in a highly engaged atmosphere. Students are admitted to the school on a zip-code based lottery, which matches the demographic of San Diego. Due to this, there are a significant number of students in our school who come from households below the poverty line. The heterogeneous mix of students also provides a vibrant context for learning. The culture of the school is one where students, teachers, administrators, and families collaborate to support the production of beautiful work.

About my class
