My students need the opportunity to make a connection with learning concepts by visually seeing and touching items that will allow for real-world experiences. Many children with learning disabilities who come from low-income families often are unable to make a connection when learning reading and math concepts. The manipulatives that have been chosen, will be used as visuals aids to help students make connections to mathematical concepts, as well as help them with phonological concepts to help them become better readers and thinkers. The goal is to use these manipulatives as teaching tools to inspire, motivate, explore critical thinking skills for students to become active READERS and MATHEMATICIANS!
